The Node Knows - Which What is Where Resources for tradeskills are scattered throughout the lands and it helps to know which what you can find where. If you were not familiar with just how to go about harvesting, I'd recommend reading Mum's Harvesting Guide. The BasicsResources needed to make Tier 1 (level 1-9) recipes will be found in Tier 1 zones, with no restrictions on who can harvest them. Tier 2 items (level 10-19) will be found in Tier 2 zones, and will require a minimum of 20 skill in the appropriate harvesting ability. Tier 3 items (level 20-29) will be found in Tier 3 zones, and will require 90 in the proper harvesting skills. Tier 4 needs 140 for your harvesting skills. Tier 5 requires harvesting skills to be 190 or higher. Tier 6 requires 240 or higher skills to harvest and also require the Desert of Flames expansion. Tier 7 requires 250 or higher and also requires the Kingdom of Sky expansion So, what goes with which tier and node, and how do you know which is the right harvesting skill for that node? Which What?Names on the nodes will vary from zone to zone, so I'll use some more generic-type names here, to create a common frame of reference. Ore-type nodes carry the metals for smithing and use the mining skill. Stone-type nodes carry the metals and gems used for jewel craft and also use the mining skill. Roots refer to the roots, tubers and other fibers that are used mainly for tailoring and alchemy and use the gathering skill. Likewise the shrubs and gardens for baking and the fungi and herb gardens for alchemy use gathering. Wood nodes, unsurprisingly, carry the woods and use the foresting skill. Various fish are used in cooking, and use the fishing skill. Dens hold the critter harvests (pelts and meats) and use the trapping skill. Where?First, we'll cover the special case of the Queen’s Colony and Outpost of the Overlord, which uses a modified, limited version of the Tier 1 harvest list, and then continue on with the normal nodes/zones. Rares are included in bold italics.
Queens Colony/Outpost of the Overlord
These are a modified Tier 1 harvesting node.
Tier 1There are no special requirements for tier 1 zones. Tier 1 zones include: Forest Ruins, Oakmyst Forest, The Caves, The Peat Bog, The Ruins, The Sunken City, The Sprawl, and The Graveyard. (Note that The Sprawl and The Graveyard have no spot in which to fish. The Ruins and the Sunken City have small areas to fish off the docks.)
Tier 2 - Antonica, Commonlands, Vale of ShatteringThe two Tier 2 zones are Antonica and the Commonlands. It requires a minimum of 20 skills in the proper harvesting skills (foresting to harvest wood, etc.) in order to harvest in these zones. Note that Tier 2 currently has two harvesting "bugs". First, "wood" rares (severed bone) are currently on the wood nodes, as well as on their own separate node. An added note is that Tier 2 harvesting can be done in the Vale of Shattering instance, for those who have access to it.
Tier 3 - Thundering Steppes, Nektulos Forest, Zarvonn's TowerIn order to harvest Tier 3 nodes, you must have harvesting skills of 90 or above. Tier 3 zones are The Thundering Steppes and Nektulos Forest. You can also harvest Tier 3 nodes in the Zarvonn's Tower instance.
*Quest Item for Axe from the Past Tier 4 - Enchanted Lands, Zek, Cove of Decay, Bloodskull ValleyTier 4 zones harvesting requirements of 140 or higher skill. Tier 5 - Rivervale, Feerrott, EverfrostTier 5 zones require 190 or better harvesting skills.
